Music Reflection - 22nd February 2012

Today I was late because I had to print my FINALE composition. It didn't need to take that long, but I needed to write my composition in the FINALE software first and then print it afterwards. Although I had already made my composition in my music notebook, I hadn't made it in the FINALE software. And so I had to write it in the computer and then print it afterwards. Today I also had to stand up, i think that was for the punishment of being late but if it was something else well OKAY. But it wasn't any trouble because it didn't last very long.

Music Reflection - 10th February 2012

Today we learned about making our own composition with the chords that we have reviewed before. Mr. Sadrakh reviewed us by asking some of us what the chords were one by one. When he asked me, I think that I did well because i memorized all the chords. Although I memorized this time I think that I have improved a lot since I have last been tested. I have improved because I have studied and prepared more and therefore I know more.

Music Reflection - 8th February 2012

Today we learned about FINALE. I learned that FINALE is a software that helps people make music in an easier way. In FINALE we can adjust the notes, the instrument, the tempo and a couple of other things as well. Mr. Sadrakh informed us about FINALE so that we are able to use it for our upcoming assessment. Our assessment was to compose our own composition using our instrument (for me it was flute/woodwind) with the chords that we have just learned. To add to that, Mr. Sadrakh also gave us the specific chords for our composition. After that he gave told 7B to either bring our USB or laptops so that he could transfer the FINALE software to us.

Music Reflection - 27th January 2012

Today we learned about the music notations. Although I've learned it before, but I think I've forgotten most of the things I learned before grade 7. But then after Mr. Sadrakh, our music teacher explained it all came back. I learned that music notation is something that is basic for everyone that is learning music and that without it we would have a lot of trouble playing and understanding music.

Music Reflection - 25 January 2012

Today in music theory class we had an assessment. This assessment was a singing assessment. We had to sing an indonesian song with a partner. My partner was Dini. We choose the song "17 Agustus" because for us it was the easiest song since we were so familiar with it. Although I have practiced, I didn't remember all the lyrics because sometimes i just blank out. Considering that, I think that it went pretty well.

Music Reflection - 19 January 2012

Today in music theory class we checked our homework that Mr. Sadrakh gave us on Wednesday. I got 3 out of 5 which wasn't so too bad considering that i was just partly guessing. After checking the homework of everybody, we sang the indonesian song "17 Agustus" just for practice because next week we have an assessment which requires us to sing one of the indonesian songs that Mr. Sadrakh had given us. I thought that it went well but then we still had to sing over and over again because it was practice and all. I didn't sing to loud thought because that would just be embarrassing.
